Disclosure͗: This post is part of the Splenda 365 Sweet Swaps Blogger Program by McNeil Nutritionals and The Motherhood, who sent me products and compensated me for my time. Opinions, experiences and photos shared here are my own, and I hope you enjoy them.
Last year when I made a hard commitment to lose weight, one of the most effective changes I made was cutting back on sugar. It is in EVERYTHING, and those hidden extra calories can really sabotage our diets. In fact, the average American eats 22.2 teaspoons of sugar each day, while experts recommend we take in no more than six teaspoons daily.
Sugar substitutes like Splenda are an easy way to make simple changes in our recipes. When recipes call for sugar, you can often choose a Splenda sweetner product instead. The result will add the same sweetness but with less calories (and Points, if like me you are a Weight Watchers member.)
I am sooo not the only one swapping Splenda for sugar. In fact, at 365SweetSwaps.com, you can check out loads of ways cooks, mixologists and more are swapping the sweet. You can share ways that you like to switch out sugar by pairing the hashtag #sweetswaps with your suggestions.
Learn more about #sweetswaps at the 365 Sweet Swaps Twitter Party on Tuesday March 4, 2013 at 12pm noon ET. Five lucky participants who answer trivia questions correctly will be randomly awarded $50 Visa Gift Cards and an assortment of Splenda Sweetener Products! (Prizes limited to U.S. participants only.)
I will be co-hosting the Twitter party and I hope you will join me! You can RSVP for the party here.
