If you run into me around town, you will catch me one of two ways.
Option 1: Gym clothes, no makeup, hair in ponytail. The gym clothes will be clean and fitted, but not aggressively matchy-matchy. Just aggressively soccer mom heading to Body Pump.
Option 2: Hair blown out, natural makeup, skinny jeans, flats or sandals. Modern and classic, fashion risks infrequent and subtle.
I have learned from perusing younger pop culture that the term “basic” is now the most egregious of insults. But I will admit that my usual look is basic mom, with some stylish touches. Heck, after the years of babies and nursing and no sleep, I am happy to be groomed and sort-of frequently exercised and clean.
But once in a while you have to live it up. Get a little crazy. Take some risks. Let your hair get frizzy and wild. Wear some ripped boyfriend jeans for a lark, even if you know that those plain blue skinnies in the closet may be slightly more slimming. Trade your everyday J.Crew tee for a bright boho caftan top with billowing sleeves.
eShakti offered me a chance to review another piece from their collection. Famous for their fit-to-order dresses, I had the honor of trying one earlier this year. It was beautiful…and a basic black A-line. Again with the low risks.
So this time I went for one of their boho chic tops in a cool yellow and blue graphic print. It is comfy and voluminous and fresh. Rather than play it safe, I paired it with Gap’s 1969 Destructed Sexy Boyfriend Jean with on-point rips in all the right places, and pointy-make-you-look-thinner Nine West pumps in snakeskin.
I let my hair air-dry. I wore dangling earrings. I had a blast. The ballet flats were back on the next day, but trying something new was such an easy escape.
I would love to invite one of you guys to try something new with eShakti yourselves! With eShakti, you can choose the size that fits closest to your measurements from their size guide, or you can send them your exact measurements and receive a custom-made, perfectly-fitting item.
Additionally, when you make your first purchase at eShakti, you receive $25 off your order. So if you win that $50 credit, you could receive a total of $75 to shop the site. The $50 prize is as good as cash, so you can use it towards an item of greater value, or select something under $50, too. You have lots of options, especially on the eShakti New Arrivals page.
To enter to win, just fill out the Rafflecopter form below. This giveaway is open only to residents of the United States and Canada.
I received one item for review. No additional compensation received. All opinions my own.

This also comes with a personal stylist for those of us who are, ahem, out of the fashion loop, right?! 😉

I just placed my first eShakti order last month. I love the ‘Puff sleeve sash waist crepe dress’ (which wasn’t featured when I placed my order, darn it!).
