#PoweredByHeels Powers My Stylish Transition from Work to Mom
Last week I headed into “the city”, Washington, D.C., for two back-to-back meetings. As I pondered my outfit that morning, I considered my transportation options.
I could wear some hot heels I knew would kill my feet if I tried to hobble from the Metro to my centrally-located, completely walkable downtown meetings.
I could wear the painful heels and leave one hour earlier than necessary and drive into the city, braving terrible morning rush hour traffic.
I could take the Metro and wear “walking shoes” and take my heels in a separate bag…in addition to my already packed handbag and laptop carrier. Then when I arrived at my meeting I could switch out the shoes…maybe I could hide my ratty flats behind a plant in the building atrium?
Or I could chose some heeled shoes that I could walk in quickly and comfortably all day, without pain and with complete style.
Have you ever worn brand new shoes and planned to walk in them, up subway station stairs and along hard city streets, all day long? I sure had never dared to do so before! But I will tell you that my feet were happy all day long. I loved having the added height and flattering line of a wedge heel while feeling as if I were wearing sneakers.
Rockport’s design team have developed all these incredible innovations with the shoe footbeds, cushioning, shock-absorption, mid-foot stability and support that produces heels that you truly can wear all day, even fresh out of the box.
Since one of my style idols, María José of VeryBusyMama asked, I’ll break down the rest of my outfit. Nothing was new but the shoes!
Silk polka dot blouse, C. Wonder (similar.)
Black faux leather pleated skirt, Target (similar.)
Black leather Celina cuff bracelet, Hayden-Harnett.
Enamel initial cuff, C. Wonder.
Opaque black tights, Hue (found at TJMaxx.)
Rockport Seven to 7 wedge heeled booties, Rockport.
I am powered by the incredible opportunity of being able to switch from career to family priorities throughout my day, and comfortable, affordable and on point style choices help me look polished while performing my various roles.
