Getting dressed should always be fun, and my kids yearn for comical, quirky touches to their clothing.
When I showed Alice this adorable soft jacket from Scandinavian clothing sensation finkid, she exclaimed, “I will look like a little gnome!”
And with that charming garden gnome-inspired detail, Alice is excited for any chance to wear her Tonttu jacket.
This cute light coat is for both boys and girls, and comes in several bright unisex colors. As it is soft combed fleece, it can be work alone or as a lining to the Tuulis parka.
finkid comes in European sizes that convert to American sizes 18 months – 6X.
The Tulppa sweatshirt is also adorable, featuring that gnome-y hood, happy stripes in aqua/blue, coral/peach or yellow/navy and SPF 50 sun protection. It is a pretty perfect beach coverup.
finkid also offers full-coverage, waterproof sun hats for kids in an array of styles. Choose from several different shapes and sun coverage options. Alice opted for the saucy sou’wester, the Ranta Sport.
Women can also get in on the Scandi-design act with the finside line for adults. I love a versatile trench with a hood (who has time for umbrellas?) and the Kerttuli is simply gorgeous. It is the most well-constructed piece of outerwear I have ever owned. It is waterproof but breathable, can stand up to the elements but is seriously stylish.
If you are expecting you can also add in the Kylli belly extender so that your baby bump can stay protected while giving you the tailored fit of a non-maternity coat. After baby comes you can also add the matching Kukka baby carrier for snuggly walks and a well-protected baby.
But even if, like me, your baby bearing days are probably over, the standard finside jackets and coats such as the Kerttuli are super chic.
For a sporty look, I am also enamored with the Impi, a long, soft sweater. It nips in at the waist for a totally flattering take on the oversized, booty-covering cardigan. This sweater works equally well over a dress or yoga clothes. For exercising on cool days I love the sleeve-glove-cuff option.
For winter days, you can combine the sweaters and coats for complete coziness. The Inkeri, a shorter version of the Impi I am wearing below, can zip right in to the Kerttuli trench. This versatility can make the jackets work for you, no matter the weather.
finside women’s clothing runs in European sizes equivalent to American size 6-16. I found the sizes to run small, so if you wear a 2-4 the jackets should still fit you fine. I wear an American 10, and chose the largest size in order to layer and zip over sweaters. I still received a tailored, not oversized, fit.
I am so thrilled to have been asked to review this exciting line of clothes as finside emerges in the American market, and even more eager to offer some cool items for YOU!

I’m really partial to the kids’ TONTTU jacket. I’m not sure I am small enough (yet) to fit into their adult jackets, but I like the Impi.

The Taikuri caps are super cute. The kiddos are supposed to wear caps at daycare and mine is super picky about what he’s willing to wear.
