I had the pleasure of coordinating press at TCFStyle Expo in Atlanta this summer, and amongst running around for work on site also I learned about some of the best and emerging curvy fashion brands and trends. The brainchild of Marie Denee, The Curvy Fashionista, this is the nation’s greatest event for plus size fashion and the curvy style community.
There were inspiring panels, such as “Style Has No Age or Size” featuring leading style bloggers such as Wardrobe Oxygen‘s Alison Gary (check out her recap) and “Body Politics: Finding OUR Identity & Representation” with important voices such as podcaster Ariel Woodson of Bad Fat Broads.
And there was fashion. Lots of fashion.
Some of the brands and trends for your fall fashion radar:
Ashley Stewart: This fall Ashley Stewart’s denim collection for sizes 12-32 is on-trend and full of options. From distressed to tailored, dark to light washes, jackets and jeans of all lengths, you will find all your fall denim needs priced right. Ashley Stewart has great sales, even on the new fall collections.
Dia & Co: This subscription box service of fashion finds for you to keep is aimed at the curvy woman starting at size 14. Your Dia Box is tailored to your style, body and budget and includes five pieces your stylist chooses fro you from over a thousand different looks. You receive in your box and try everything on at home, and pay only for what you love. You can exchange or return any item and Dia & Co covers all the shipping.
Lane Bryant: I believe Lane Bryant cuts some of the best blazers and pants for curvy women, and I love their cutting edge collections by designers like Prabal Gurung and Melissa McCarthy.
ELOQUII: ELOQUII is all about bringing the latest runway looks to the closets of women sizes 14-28, with masterful fits. I loved checking out their new fall arrivals at TCFSTyle Expo, especially on the gorgeous attendees.
The guys are were not left out at all on the big and tall fashion front at TCFStyle Expo, such as baseball legend Mo Vaughn’s MVP Collections and The Winston Box, a subscription box service for big and tall men that has actor Daniel Franzese as creative director and co-owner.
But the most rewarding and inspiring sight I saw at TCFStyle Expo I watched happen again and again throughout the two day event. It was women coming up to Marie Denee with tears in their eyes to hug her and thank her for hosting this event. Marie and her even team provided community, recognition, inspiration and gorgeous fashion options for women of all body types. I saw literally hundreds of hugs, selfies and tears as attendees lined up to love on The Curvy Fashionista.
TCFStyle Expo rocks.
You have to go with me next year.
