Wordless Wednesday: Vacation Dream Come True

My apologies if you follow me on Twitter or we are Facebook pals and you have seen this image a zillion times already.

I am obsessed with this pic by my husband Chris, one of our very first times using Instagram (here’s my Instagram profile), because it is a real life rendering of how I always picture family vacations!

In my dreams all three children are happy, appreciative of the great time their parents are providing for them, no one is bickering. In my fantasies I am relaxed and not full of my usual anxiety or thinking of where I can buy a drink.

However, those dreams have only come true for me with any consistency at Disney World which we experienced as a family at the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. I swear to all things holy, that place just GETS IT when it comes to family vacations. Look at all three of my kids’ faces!  Look how relaxed I am! Chris took this picture to document that I do unwrinkle my forehead once in a while.

As the photo attests, dreams do come true at Disney.

And since I’m already pretty wordFUL on wordLESS Wednesday, I’ll give you an exclusive photo confession:

Prior to visiting Disney World with my family I was this chick:

Salty, grumpy, thinks she needs certain spheres in her visage.

After experiencing Disney World in all its glory for one week with my family I have been thoroughly converted to this chick:

“Hi! I’m calling to book a room at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort….Yes, of course we want the Finding Nemo Family Suite!

As Peter Shankman said in his keynote to the social media parents attending the conference, converts become evangelists.

Disclosure: As a blogger at A Parent in America and A Parent in Silver Spring, I was invited to take part in the 2012 Disney Social Media Moms Celebration conference.  I paid a conference fee that provided for my conference learning experience, my family’s tickets/passes, our accommodations, some meals and additional incredible perks at a substantially-reduced rate as attendees of the event. I paid for my and my family’s airfare and travel expenses separately and completely. I was not asked or required to publish content related to the conference or Disney. All opinions are my own.

She’s a great audience. Maybe I should loan her out to improv shows
