“Where’s the iPad?”

Is this as familiar a refrain in your house as it is in mine? Often my and Chris’s shared iPad can be found buried in children’s covers, or abandoned on the craft table after a weekend session of the children playing kid-friendly apps.

It is thoughtfully designed for little hands and eyes, with a big clear screen, a textured easy-to-grip border and an extended power cord.

It comes ready for kids to play it right out of the box, no WiFi required, and pre-loaded with 200 children’s learning apps, digital books, songs and kid videos. No additional purchases or downloads are required, and the total cost if you downloaded all of these entertainment components from Google Play would be $390.

However, the price of the Little Scholar is $145, exclusively at Toys R Us.

The preloaded apps will entertain and engage kids in math, reading, spelling and more skills. The Little Scholar includes original video programming such as Charlie & Company, a new educational video series with the animated Charlie the Golden Retriever and his friend Miss Ellie.

With Little Scholar, there are no ads or in-app purchases. No credit card required at start up and to worry you that it will be accidentally charged by your child later. There are no cartridges to lose or damage, a problem we came across with other just-for-kids educational gaming devices.

It is a gaming tablet just for the kids. No more sharing of your iPad…at least not with your toddler or preschooler.
